CEO and Founder of ISCA Technologies
Agenor Mafra-Neto is CEO and founder of ISCA TEchnologies. ISCA Technologies is a company dedicated to improving agriculture through the use of ICPM, Integrated Pest and Crop Management.
Dr. Mafra-Neto founded ISCA Technologies in Riverside in 1996 after extensive work in academia. His motivation arose from a childhood experience, viewing the dangers of pesticides after a family friend died from ingestion. Dr. Mafra-Neto has utilized his background in chemical ecology and entomology to find new safer ways to improve agriculture and limit the use of pesticides. His solution is through the use of integrated pest management. Unlike conventional pest management, integrated pest management utilizes research of the pests to manipulate and control populations. Use of semiochemicals has allowed for more precise control of insect populations without having to rely on heavy industrial pesticide use. These new methods are both effective and environmentally friendly.
Dr. Mafra-Neto, once heavily involved in research and development, is now more focused on managing the company as it expands to the international market; Bringing cleaner, safer, and green technology to the agricultural world.
